Occupational Health and Safety

KÂR Katılım Altın Rafinerisi A.Ş. embraces a culture of valuing each individual member of the teams who work with dedication across every operation. Accordingly, particular care is taken to ensure that all operations are conducted in accordance with the principle of "WORKER HEALTH AND SAFETY FIRST". In terms of the practical implementation of this principle, roles, authorities, and responsibilities have been clearly defined, and all teams are required to observe the applicable occupational health and safety rules without exception.

Within the Company's adopted approach to occupational health and safety, measures aimed solely at preventing accidents are not considered sufficient in themselves. Continuous improvements to working conditions that enable employees to carry out their duties in a healthy, safe, and sustainable working environment are equally regarded as a necessity. Consistent with the sustainability policies and certifications adopted by the Company, the objective is to manage all hazards with minimum harm and to eliminate unavoidable hazards — using the best available techniques — in a manner that causes no harm to employees, the facility, or the natural environment. In pursuit of this objective, the provision of personal protective equipment, the regular conduct of required training and drills, emergency risk planning, and preventive measures are implemented in a systematic and consistent manner with respect to occupational health and safety.

Acting on its responsibility to implement, maintain, and communicate the Occupational Health and Safety Management System to all employees, KÂR Katılım Altın Rafinerisi A.Ş. formally and continuously fulfils the requirements set out in the ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System Standard, in order to establish, support, and sustain the directions and objectives pursued across all its activities.

The Company commits to complying with all applicable occupational health and safety legislation — including laws, regulations, and statutory instruments — in every country and region in which it operates, as well as with the requirements of domestic and international organisations of which it is a member, relevant international agreements, and contracts and specifications entered into with employers.
