Precious Metal Analysis

At the laboratory of KÂR Katılım Altın Rafinerisi A.Ş., the fineness and elemental composition of gold and silver samples are analyzed in line with the objective of compliance with international standards. Our laboratory provides reliable analytical data and technical support for raw material acceptance, refining and final product quality control processes.

The most appropriate analytical method is determined according to the characteristics of the sample and the nature of the analytical request. Measurement processes are carried out securely under high-resolution camera surveillance, incorporating sample preparation, instrument calibration, the use of reference materials and quality control practices. The results obtained are recorded in accordance with the principle of traceability.

Through the KMTS (Precious Metals Tracking System), all KÂR Katılım Altın Rafinerisi processes involving unprocessed and minted precious metals, from production through to the end user, are subject to traceable monitoring and auditable verification, supporting transparency and reliability throughout the process.

Within the scope and authorizations granted under its Authorized Assay Office Certificate (Özel Ayar Evi Yetki Belgesi), KÂR Katılım Altın Rafinerisi A.Ş. also performs gold and silver fineness determination and assay procedures.

Our Analytical Methods

Cupellation (Fire Assay)

This method, used for the determination of gold fineness, is applied in accordance with the principles of ISO 11426, taking into account the characteristics of the sample.

ICP-OES Analysis

Used for the quantitative determination of the elemental composition and impurities present in appropriately prepared samples.

XRF Analysis

Enables rapid examination of the elemental composition of samples containing precious and other metals, generally without causing damage to the sample. It is used for preliminary assessment and quality control processes.

Automated Titration

The potentiometric titration method used to determine silver fineness is applied to suitable samples in accordance with the principles of ISO 13756.
